When the word was first released that there would be a new and different Ford Mustang variant, purists were worried. When they heard that it would not only be an electric car, it would also be an SUV (sport utility vehicle) they were beside themselves with righteous anger. How could Ford do this to a legend? Well, Ford have, but the purists need not be too blue; this is a very good car that is fun to drive, especially in this MHH International featured model, the GT.

Mach-E GT Details

Ford’s intention in presenting the Mustang Mach-E model is the latest step on their journey to, they say, offering only zero-emissions capable, all-electric or plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles by mid-2026. They insist that drivers will not lose out by ensuring this new generation of cars and SUV’s are practical and fun-to-drive. Mustang fans will be watching closely.

It is, say the company, the ‘most exciting, most driver-focussed version of Ford’s all-new, all-electric SUV’. In a world of mediocre mainstream models we are inclined to agree. Great handfuls of torque propel the prestige Mustang Mach-E GT from 0-62 mph in just 3.7 seconds. That’s real Mustang territory.

Equipped as standard with an 88kWh extended-range battery, the Mach-E GT enables driving enthusiasts to embrace pure-electric driving with confidence, delivering up to 310 miles of range between charges despite the massive performance. Clearly, we should add that this is the official figure; real world range may be a little less. Charging with up to 150kW can add an average of sixty miles driving range within approximately 10 minutes of charging, and charge from 10% to eighty per cent battery capacity within approximately 45 minutes. This technology is improving. New innovations occur almost weekly these days.

Unique Specification For The GT

A premium standard specification enhances Mach-E GT’s exclusive appeal. There’s a couple of unique exterior colours for this model, Grabber Blue and Cyber Orange, with body-coloured wheel arches and a bespoke, 3D-effect polycarbonate grille in Dark Grey. Additionally and available only this model, 20” alloy wheels feature a machined face with high-gloss black inserts. Further optional exterior features include a Shadow Black painted roof, Pillar Black door mirrors and the ubiquitous red brake callipers.

The cabin is spacious and very modern. There’s a huge 15.5” full HD touch-screen display which supports Ford’s next generation SYNC 4A communication and entertainment system. Apparently this system actually learns from driver behaviours. We expect this means choices rather than unsavoury habits.

Especially bolstered performance sports seats are designed to be supportive during spirited driving, and are finished in a soft-touch leather-like modern eco-material, as is the steering wheel. Comfort features include a 10-speaker Bang & Olafson Sound System and hands-free tailgate technology for simplified access to the 402 litre rear luggage space. There’s also an optional panorama glass roof.

This model Mustang also features as standard advanced driver assistance technologies for effortless touring. Here’s the list: Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring, Lane-Keeping System with Blind Spot Assist, Active Park Assist v2.0 and Pre-Collision Assist with Auto Emergency Braking. In fact, all the latest in safety technology.

The company will also offer support in the form of the ‘FordPass’ Charging Network, which, we learn, will offer seamless, integrated access to charging across Europe and presumably the USA. Other global regions will no doubt get similar. The aim clearly is to offer complete peace-of-mind on the move for those concerned about the range issue. This model is available to order now for delivery later in the year. Prices are expected to start from around £67,000 in the UK. Contact us here at MHH International to find out more.
