Car import timings UK to the Cayman Islands
Importing your car from the UK takes around 40 days from the moment your car is collected in the UK to the moment it reaches the port in George Town. These timings breakdown as follows:
Day 1: Car inspected, collected and transported to our office.
Days 2-8: Shipping booked, modifications completed, transported to the UK port.
Days 9-12: Packed into the container, loaded onto the vessel.
Days 13-38: Shipping from the UK to George Town

Car import restrictions for The Cayman Islands
Vehicles must be right hand drive and the passenger door should open on the left hand side of the vehicle.
There are no mandatory pre-export inspections.
There are no age restrictions on the cars imported.
Double decker buses are not allowed.
A ‘moke’, ‘mini moke’ or a similar vehicle known as ‘dune buggy’ or beach buggy’ is not allowed without specific permission from the Governor.
