MHH International Introduces The Bentley Bentayga V8

Bentley Bentayga V8
Love it or hate it, the Bentley Bentayga certainly makes a statement. The road it is unlikely that it will pass you without comment and you can be pretty sure that this V8 will pass you. It’s quick.

Since its rather contentious introduction, this monster Bentley has defined a new supercar sector and set the benchmark for luxury SUV’s with others now playing catch-up. This big beast offers customers the ultimate in Grand Touring driving experiences unrestricted by landscape or condition. The V8 featured here is the most powerful version yet.

Power & Performance

The beating heart of this Bentley Bentayga is a new-generation 4.0L, twin-turbocharged 32 valve, V8 petrol engine which combines immense power with impressive, say the company, (everything’s relative) fuel efficiency. The addition of the aural delights of that V8 burble, stylish twin-quad exhaust pipes and optional carbon-ceramic brakes (must have, we think), reveals a true sporting character.

The car’s responses are fully adjustable on demand by the driver through Bentley’s Drive Dynamics system. Switch from limousine-like refinement to sporting precision in an instant. The engine develops a huge 542bhp and 568 lb.ft. of torque that results in a top speed of 180mph and 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Bentley believe that the average driver could achieve a range of 464 miles on a tankful of fuel with CO² emissions of just 260g/km., aided by ‘stop/start’ and the unobtrusive cylinder deactivation of four pots when cruising.

Bentley Dynamic Ride is the world’s first electric active roll control technology that utilises a 48V system. This system instantly counteracts lateral rolling forces when cornering and ensures maximum tyre contact to deliver, in Bentley’s words, ‘class-leading cabin stability, ride comfort and exceptional handling’.

Crucially, to deliver true off-road performance, the adaptive and reactive system provides variable torsional resistance, allowing the Bentayga to be both dynamically capable and comfortable for all occupants at all times with silent, instantaneous responses to deal with all road surfaces aided by variable high control.

The Looks

The Bentley Bentayga’s muscular, sculptural lines that follow SUV tradition, offer an unmistakable presence on the road. From the four round LED headlamps to the large matrix grille, the V8 exudes Bentley design DNA, while the overt lines, large rear haunches and raised ride height suggest rugged off-road ability.

There’s a choice of 11 wheel designs, including an all-new 22” five-spoke wheel with black painted and polished finish. The alloys are complemented by a purposeful black and chrome grille at the front and Bentley ‘twin-quad’ exhaust tailpipes at rear, both of which provide a further subtle reminder of the new engine specification.

A Sublime Interior

The Bentayga V8 continues the legendary car maker’s tradition of intricate detailing and fine, handcrafted precision using authentic materials. Customers can specify hand cross-stitching, which highlights the interior styling lines of the seats and door panels, and there is the choice of the Bentayga’s four, five, or seven-seat configuration, for ultimate versatility.

For the modernists three innovative new interior options are offered: a matt or high-gloss carbon-fibre finish replacing traditional veneer surfaces; a wood and hide steering wheel; and a new rich leather called Cricket Ball red, which may not be too obvious to nations where cricket is not played! Traditionalists can still stick with the wood.

The optional wood and hide trimmed steering wheel is new. Uniquely, the new three-spoke, wood and hide trimmed wheel (available in seven different veneer finishes) uses a solid wood base maintaining the authenticity of Bentley.

The Bentayga’s 8” touch screen infotainment system boasts class-leading navigation technology, a 60GB hard drive, and a choice of up to 30 languages. Rear seat passengers benefit from the introduction of the Bentley Entertainment Tablet – a removable 10.2” Android device with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth for effortless, high-speed on-board connectivity.

Priced at £136,200 in the UK, this version of the SUV is available from March. Bentley say a hybrid version of the car will be available later in 2018.
