New And Used Mercedes-Benz Cars

With a history dating back to 1886, Mercedes-Benz is one of the world's largest manufacturers of prestige passenger cars, selling more than two million units per year. The Mercedes-Benz range is vast, featuring a wide range of premium cars. Current models include the C-Class saloon, the larger E-Class saloon and the compact A-Class hatchback. The company also builds high performance versions of its cars, recognised by the 'AMG' logo. One way or another pretty much all of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars have versions badged AMG. In addition to this the brand is also committed to meeting the requirements of sustainability and electric vehicles for the future.

Mercedes-Benz Design

Cars from the German brand have always been seen as something to aspire to. Previously seen as a traditional car maker, the company’s new design philosophy centres on the slogan “Sensual Purity” as an expression of modern automotive luxury. They are imagining a smoother design profile featuring reduced edges and creases aiming to create sleeker and more sensual surfaces, while continuing to showcase the latest in technology. Spearheading the Mercedes drive to electrification, the three strong (so far) range of electric EQ models are available to buy now. The EQA is a compact SUV with sporty connotations and an official range of some 300 miles; fine for most uses. The EQB meanwhile is a seven-seat, family orientated SUV with a powerful and efficient electric drive, clever energy recuperation and predictive Navigation. The trio is completed by, unsurprisingly, by the EQC a big all-wheel drive car with, again, a 300 mile range.

The GL-Class of sport utility vehicles are among the most popular. Ranging in size, with five or seven seats, the GLC in particular is a striking example of the art of SUV. The rugged exterior hides a luxurious interior with sports seats and a connected dashboard interface. Some models also feature a panoramic roof. Used GLC models are available to import from the UK to Kenya, New Zealand and other destinations worldwide.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz’s wide and all-encompassing conventional range of cars, executive saloons and further sport utility vehicles continues as usual. Designed by single letters the range commences with the smaller A-Class with it’s sporting appearance and digital dashboard. The B-Class a sports tourer follows, then the legendary and best-selling C-Class and finally the intelligent executive E-Class with its clean yet appealing design and an exclusive, high-quality interior.

It doesn’t end there. The sleek and desirable CLA four-door coupé-inspired saloon with its shark-nose design and accomplished drive adds another element to the company’s image and there’s a practical CLA estate (shooting brake) version too. Then there’s the CLS alternative, offering an enticing mix of style, luxury and performance. Its practical too; thanks to its big boot (trunk) and five seats.

There are many variants to each model and the range of optional extras makes for a very long list indeed. Power is delivered by the usual selection of petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrids and fully electric with various power outputs. In short, with the Mercedes-Benz range of cars there really is something for everyone, from lively family cars to executive expresses.

Future Mercedes-Benz

With Mercedes-EQ, the brand’s electrification programme, Mercedes-Benz Cars are developing alternative drives. They intend to electrify their entire catalogue by 2022, they say. There will be a range of electrified models in each model sector, including 48-volt models, a wide choice of plug-in hybrids, and all-electric battery vehicles with battery.

In addition to alternative drives, automated driving functions including fully automated driving are opening up new options for the exterior design of MB cars. Electric drive, for example, makes it possible to realise new body shapes and to enable the vehicle to take on new functions, say between the vehicle and its surroundings. The Vision EQS, concept is the building block for this technology.
